Fish rings

Chloe Fitzpatrick used both traditional and modern materials within this project.  Mixing traditional wax casting techniques with modern everyday materials.

The purpose of this project is to show the true beauty of a creature that is not normally deemed the most beautiful. She chose to focus on a deep sea fish, and wanted to create a collection of rings that fully embodied the nature of the fish. Using silicone bathroom sealant inside the ring to express the forms, colours and textures hidden inside a deep sea fish.

 

She believes that it is important to recognise that beauty is all around us, in the strangest or most hidden places.
